How to share ADSL broadband provided for single computer ( eg. Reliance broadband Pune)
Since i took new Broadband Connection. I always wanted to share it with my PC and laptop and to other PCs of Frens Simultaneously . But my Provider ( Reliance broadband Pune,India) had provided broadband for personal use only( i.e. it could be only connected to single PC ) .They didn’t support Multiple login through their broadband portal www.reliancebroadband.in . I had bought A Hub for sharing the connection but that didn’t work out coz i shared the connection throught HUB. I had connected the ADSL line to HUB and then distributed among multiple computers. when multiple computers wanted interenet connection they had to login individually through reliance broaband portal (www.reliancebroadband.in) but they didn’t support multiple meant i could only connect one computer at a time . so i had to think of an another way.
The next day i bought LAN card and installed in a computer . i connected the ADSL broadband line to that computer which had two LAN cards to one of the LAN card and then from another LAN card i took out the LAN wire and connected to HUB. in that way the computer having two LAN cards was behaving like server. then through hub i distributed the connection to different PCs and laptops.
In this case the PC having two LAN cards ( PC having direct internet connection) had to be on as long as any other computer in LAN wanted to use internet connection. and of course the PC had to login to broadband portal . the other computers in network could just use the connection using default gateway as that PCs( server PC having two LAN cards) IP. so it was pretty much easier to do. now i am enjoying the shared internet connection among many pc simultaneosly
The screenshots will help explain what i did.
1. On server PC ( the PC having two LAN cards ) check the Internet Connection sharing checkbox and select through which LAN connection u want to share ( the Other LAN cards connection which goes to HUB )
Note if u want to share between only two computers HUB is not necessary u just can connect the LAN cable going to HUB directly to the other PC

2. On server PC when the connection is successful u will see the shared icon ( hand below the icon ) and other LAN connection also active if the other computers are connected

3. On client computers
Click Connect to the Internet, and then click Next.
Click Set up my connection manually, and then click Next.
Click Connect using a broadband connection that is always on, and then click Next.On the Completing the New Connection Wizard page, click Finish.
4. On client computers on LAN properties check “obtain IP address automatically”

5. after checking that box u can see in LAN properties that the IP address is assigned by DHCP and the Gateway IP is set as the server computers IP ( computer having two LAN cards generally 192.168.0.1 )

6. after all things are done in Network connections panel u can see two LAN active one local LAN other from server PC having direct internet line and two LAN cards.
![]()
This completes the setup . Enjoy internet sharing among many PCs paying for single PC internet connection
Note: if all PCs are using internet the speed will be divided but for normal surfing purpose the speed remains almost same. speed will only decrease in computers only if one of the PCs in network is downloading large data and using large portion of bandwidth .

Nice technique! I have the same situation as well. My provider only allows login via their portal and I can’t share it with just a router. Is there ANY other method that doesn’t use a dummy PC that acts as a server?

It is a good. But i like to add that instead of PC with two LAN Card, it will also be possible by just one LAN Card and Hub, Just make one PC A Proxy Server for internet sharing and other can connect to it by giving the ip address of the server in their ip gateway in the same LAN configuration and its work

I have an office laptop for which I do not have admin privileges. How to connect this to my home PC having Reliance broadband PC.
Note: I cannot modify the Connection settings on the laptop, which has dynamic IP address configuration. Since I use my laptop as PnP in office, how can I configure PnP in home as well.

It worked guys trust me…i tried allot to share but not successfull and reliance gives dynamic IP for one PC on poPPE based modem. For Static IP it quit natual that you can share via standard IP on other LAN…but as this guy shown in screenshot, even i have to share my internet connection with two other LAPTOP and also i used VPN(team viewer) through same LAN Sharing for fast file sharing and i also use remobo….previously internet is not working even i tried proxy too..but this work absolutely fine.

it is easy way to share your reliance broadband connection to many computers but why hv u installed another LAN, there is no need to install that LAN u can share ur connection of that PC and enjoy the internet to the other PCs, u hv to plug in all the cables and reliance net cable to the HUb/swt.

@Praveen — In that case i think you need to configure you wireless router and use User ID and password from its Admin screen . so that u dont have to put userid and password provided by your ISP everytime you try to connect to Internet . after doing that as many PCs may connect to INternet via your router.. basically it wont ask for User Id and Password..
i haven’t done this but this may help you..
