Robot that blogs— PaPeRo

The NEC Corporation has announced the development of a new multimedia blog creation system robot “PaPeRo” which can connect to the Internet and maintain a blog about its daily experiences.

“The system is initialized when a user begins a conversation with PaPeRo about the events of their day, which the system then records and analyzes. Following this, PaPeRo searches for suitable multi-media contents on the Internet, including images, illustrations and music, which are automatically uploaded and edited along with a video recording of the user’s blog. This new system facilitates ease of multi-media-rich blog creation.”

“The novel system has been realized by integrating (1) large-vocabulary, continuous speech recognition technology, which converts the speech content of the video message into text and extracts important keywords, and (2) natural language, text retrieval technology, which enables searching of contents on the Internet.”

PaPeRo is scheduled to demonstrate its new bloging capabilities at the Conference of the Association of Natural Language Processing on March 20th in Shiga, Japan.

Just discovered a complete list of all marked down products at Amazon, sorted by category
and % off, ranging from 50% off to 90% off (thanks Sonja for the effort).

Actually I never thought Amazon would have articles with 90% off, but only in the category
Electronics there are more than 3000 of them - look for yourself, the list is on
Bargain Hunter (which is a blog of a woman who specializes in finding good deals at
    Amazon, like Britain’s “Jeanie”).
